Childhood Sexual Abuse Statute of Limitations Extended in Some Cases (Public Act 19-16)

The Connecticut Legislature took a step in line with the wishes of victims in easing the statute of limitations on childhood sexual exploitation, assault and abuse victims.

The changes are as follows:

  1. If there has been a criminal conviction of sexual assault, there is no statute of limitations in a civil action
  2.
